Ada Faye Loftis was born to the parentage of Joe Leonard Davis and Ella Mae (Baltrip) Davis on January 22, 1941 in New Willard, Texas. They both preceded her in death.
Ada received her education in Polk County School District at Dunbar High School in Livingston, Texas. She furthered her education at Draughon's Business College where she received her certificate in Data Entry.
Ada accepted Christ at an early age and was added to the West End Church of Christ in Livingstion, Texas. After graduation from high school, she moved to Houston, Texas where she took a job as a waitress. She later relocated to Dallas, Texas where she met the love of her life, James Loftis. They were united in holy matrimony on June 27, 1962. To this union, God blessed them with one son and three daughters.
She placed her membership at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ, Dallas, TX in the early 60's. She later moved her membership to University Church of Christ in Dallas. In 1986, she placed her membership at Southern Hills Church of Christ where she was a faithful member until her death.
Ada was an active participant in the church chorus and enjoyed helping with the Hospitality Committee. She loved teaching Sunday School and helping the youth. She was acknowledged as the "Mother of the Year" in 1998.
She was employed with the City of Dallas for 20 years. After retirement, she spent her quality time at the Sunshine Senior Center (Salvation Army), where she met many friends.
She had 5 siblings who preceded her in death: Sister, Freddie Jo; brothers, Charles Louis, Samuel, A. I., and Sie Spencer.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Husband, James Loftis; son, Donald Ray Loftis; daughters, Barbara Jean Jackson (Michael), Rita Fay Jones (Keith), Virgie Marie Barnett (Steven); step daughters, Marye Jackson (James), Sandra Davis (James); step son, Revis Ray Loftis; sisters, Bobbie Elois Dosia and Jimmie Loraine Wyatt (Sonny); 16 grandhildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
