Jettie Alfreda ?Bea? Peterson, born March 4, 1920 in Tucker, Texas; her mother and father preceded her in death. Alfreda attended school at Green Bay school in Tucker, Texas. In Palestine, Texas she met and married her husband, Sherman Peterson February 1936. To their union seven sons were born, 3 were deceased at child birth. In 1942 Alfreda and Sherman moved to Athens, Texas where they resided until 1954 when they moved to Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas she became a member of the Deliverance Revival Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Bishop Milton Jones and where she received the Holy Ghost in 1960. While a member at Deliverance Revival Tabernacle, she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Usher Board and she received her ministers? license. She later united with Sanctuary Liberty Church under the leadership of Pastor Alfred Knowles and then under the leadership of Pastor Charles Green. During this time she was appointed Mother of the Church and was President of the Mother?s Board. She was an active in all areas of the church until her health began to decline. While living in Dallas she was employed at Albalon Poultry for 5 ½ years. She also worked domestically and owned her own ?Café? for a short period of time. Mother Peterson found her passion for child development in 1970; she opened her in-home day care center and operated it for 30 years. She touched the lives of countless children.
She had four sons who preceded her in death including James Peterson (December 8, 2000).
She leaves to cherish her memories 3 sons: Elven Peterson (Billie), Johnny Peterson (Gloria) and Raymond Peterson (Brenda), 24 grandchildren with over 60 great & great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
