Alonzo Drewes Young was born to the Parentage of Sheffield and Rosa Young in Snow Hill, Alabama on August 7, 1932. He obtained his high school education at the Snow Hill Institute, and later attended Concordia Lutheran College. Alonzo relocated to Dallas TX, and met Carolyn Nixon. They united in holy matrimony in 1963 and reared two children. Alonzo was baptized in the Lutheran Church and remained devoted to his faith. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Lutheran church for over 50 years. He attended worship service on a consistent basis and served as an usher.
He worked at Bank Of American in downtown Dallas for 31 years for several companies such as Bramalea of Texas, Allied Barton Protective Service, UBM Enterprise. In addition, he was also a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army.
Alonzo Drewes Young transitioned from this life into eternity on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Carolyn Young of Dallas, Texas; a daughter and son in law, Michelle and Darrell Robinson of Rowlett, Texas; a son, Isaiah Ellis III of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Detra and Kiesha Boyce of Dallas, Texas and Cardon Ellis and Tyrome Ellis of Dallas, Texas; a beloved sister, Ethel Smith of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
