Anna Beatrice (Woodfox) Ervin was born the seventh child of eleven to Milton and Alice Morgan Woodfox on September 4th in New Iberia, Louisiana. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age.
Anna completed her education at James Henderson High School in New Iberia Independent School District, and soon after relocated to Dallas, Texas. Later, she married Edgar Lee Ervin and from this union no children were born. However, with her loving and caring personality, she was known to many children as “Mother Ervin.”
Through her Christian Journey, Mother Ervin was a faithful and devoted member of Miracle Deliverance Pentecostal Church and House of Refuge Pentecostal Church. Later, she joined in fellowship with the Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she served as an Assistant Sunday School Teacher. She loved sharing the word of God with others and praising His name.
Anna was employed by the City of Dallas, St. Paul Hospital, Baylor Medical Center and Children Medical Center for many years. Upon retiring, she was rewarded for her outstanding and dedicated janitorial service. During retirement, she loved shopping, and working inside and outside her home, where she was known as “Aunt Bea” in the community.
As the years proceeded, Aunt Bea’s health began to slowly decline. Aunt Bea was moved to Brookdale Senior Assisted Living in Cedar Hill, Texas where God, in all His infinite wisdom and gracious mercy, called her from earthly pain to heavenly gain. Proceeding her in death were her parents, brothers Wilfred, Kenward, and Earl Woodfox, and a sister Norma Fay Woodfox.
To cherish her life memories are sisters Katie Mae Stokes of West Texas City, TX, Juanita Spencer and Verlie Mae Webster both of Dallas, TX and Lucille Morrison of Grand Prairie, TX, also brothers Nathaniel Woodfox (Lena) of Texas City, TX and Mack Miller Woodfox of Oakland, CA along with a host of nephews, nieces, and countless friends.
