Sis. Annie Lue Perkins was born on March 1, 1926 to the late Cornelius and Mary Jeffery Patterson in Gilmer, Texas. She received her education from the Upshur County Public School. Her father, mother, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.
While living in Greenville, Texas, Annie Patterson met her soul mate Curtis Perkins. They were united in holy matrimony in 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Perkins moved to Dallas, Texas in 1955.
Sis. Perkins worked in the housekeeping industry for many years. Having no children of her own, her nieces and nephews became her children…and her great nieces and nephews became her grandchildren.
She accepted the Lord as her Savior in the early 1950’s and became a member of Lighthouse Church of God and Christ under the leadership of the late Supt. Edward Calloway around 1965, and remained a member at Lighthouse until God called her home.
Sis. Annie Perkins leaves to cherish her memories: Her youngest sister, Mildred (Galley) Patterson of Greenville, Texas (88 yrs. Old), seven nieces: Luvenia Peoples Punch (Rev. James), Linda Peoples Walker, Alisa Peoples Yarbrough (Cavin), Lorraine Patterson Venters, Sandra Tennison, Lois Tennison, and Sympthia Tennison; seven nephews; Troy Peoples, Luther ”Bubba” Peoples (Veta), Kenneth Patterson, Troy Patterson, Audry ”Boo” Tennison (Pattie), Archie “Brother” Tennison, Jr (Mary)., Carl Tennison, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
