Betty Jean Hardman was born on June 24, 1940, to the parentage of Ernest Goines and Ethel Lewis. She met and married Floyd Hardman and to this union, four children were born.
She joined East Gate Baptist Church in 1972 under the leadership of the late Pastor H. D. Reagan and the current leadership of Pastor Kennedy Young Jr. She was a faithful charter member for 44 years during which she served in the Mass Choir, Pastor’s Supplementary Board, Senior’s Ministry, and Sunday School until her health failed her.
Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Regina Hardman Bryant and Jacqueline Hardman; two sisters, Lynda Lewis of Dallas, Texas, and Robin Bates (Eric) of Wylie, Texas; two brothers, Michael Lewis (Faye) of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and David Lewis Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Marcus Hardman, Anthony Sanders, and Kendra Williams; one great-grandson, Travion Hardman; two goddaughters, Janet Solomon and Ruth Grove; and a host of nieces and nephews.
