Betty Nell Pea

Betty Nell Pea was born to the parents of Harvey (who preceded her in death) and Ora Lee Irvin, in Bryan, TX on January 20 1949. She went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2013 at her home in Balch Springs, TX.

Betty graduated from Kemp High, Bryan TX in 1967.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She united in marriage to Richard Lee Pea). They were blessed with 3 daughters, Jacqueline, Felicia, Roshunda, and one son,  Terrance.

Betty and Richard were united in Holy Matrimony in April of 1970.

Throughout her life she consistently loved and served the Lord in ministry. As a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, she served as Pastor Care/Aid, Usher ministry, Mission President, Finance President, Sponsor of Mother and Daughter Banquet, and Mission Chorus.

Her career consisted of various jobs. In 1967 she started her career at Texas Instruments, Dallas Texas for 21 years as an Administrative Assistant.  She also works for the Texas Work Force Commission as an Administrative Assistant until her recent illness.

Preceded in death her father Harvey Irvin Sr., brothers, Richard, Bernard and Terry Key Irvin, and sister, Linda Kaye McMurray.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Richard Pea; daughters, Jacqueline Pea, Felicia Pea of Dallas TX, Roshunda Pea, and one son, Richard Terrance Pea (Balch Springs TX), brothers James Irvin (Diane), Mesquite, TX; Harvey Irvin Jr. (Pauline) Houston TX, Terry McMurray (Juanita) Dallas, Danny McMurray (Priscilla) Albuquerque, NM, Samuel McMurray, Dallas, TX), Darrell McMurray, Bryan TX,  sisters Barbara Mullins, Plano TX, Reva Danforth Houston, TX, step-sister Vera Barksdale, Houston TX, five grandchildren, (Tierra, Acacia, Micah, Franklyn, and Nehemiah), two great-grandchildren, (Elijah and Zion), special niece, Kymberly, longtime friends, Margaret Brooks and Carol Jackson. A host of loving, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, cousins, classmates, church family and friends.
