Mr. Billy E. Young went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. He was born on April 8, 1939, in Clarksville, TX.
Billy was the second child born to the union of the late Rev. Willie L. Young and Sallie Mae Young Brown. He attended school in Wichita Falls, TX, and attended Prairie View A&M University. He married Evelyn Weathers and to this union 3 children were born. He later married Julie Mitchell and to this union one daughter was born. He was employed at Frito-Lay Inc as a draftsman engineer and retired as a Senior Project Designer in 1998, with 30 years of service.
In his spare time, he played bass and lead guitar. He traveled extensively in his job with Frito Lay.
He became a member of Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and volunteered with the transportation ministry.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife Julie; 4 children: Degie Johnson, Ennis, TX; Amelia (Ed Jr.) Roberts, Mesquite, TX; Stacy (Aundrel) Young, Dallas, TX; Robyn (Richard) Diaz, Austin, TX; 2 step-daughters: Rhonda (Efrem) Robinson, DeSoto, TX; Angela (Willie Jr.) Smith, Allen, TX; an aunt: Susie Rose, Wichita Falls, TX; 3 sisters: Degie Washington, Jamaica, NY; Gayle (John) Stoker, Dallas, TX; Florence Strawn, Wichita Falls, TX; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
