The last voice of motherly love has been silenced by the hand of death. Her words of encouragement and correction will now be memories to hold close to our heart. Her sense of style and the grace of her walk will never be duplicated but have left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Brenda Jean Ellis Valentine has transitioned to her eternal reward. Whether she was your mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and/or friend, Brenda has left her physical and spiritual fingerprint on the lives of each of us.
She was born December 22, 1943 to Oscar Sr. (Daddy Oscar) and Louise (Mama Lou) Ellis. She was the last of four children. Not to be overshadowed by the older sister and brothers, Brenda Jean sought her place in society and in The Body of Christ. She was taught to love God from an early age by her parents. Brenda accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior during her lifetime. She later built on her Biblical foundation with her pursuit of a degree in Theology at Southern Bible Institute. Sister Valentine became a member of Griggs Chapel Baptist Church, Dallas, TX and sought to become involved in the Women’s Ministry, New Membership Orientation and other ministries.
No matter what you called her: Aunt Brenda, Brenda Jean, BJ, Mama or Sis. Valentine, she will always be remembered for the impact she had on every life she touched. From McKinney to Dallas ---From bartender to Deaconess --- From the Dollar Bar to the Throne Room of God, every step of her earthly life was made toward her presence with the Lord.
