Carl Cecile Jackson

Carl Cecile Jackson, 97, passed away on the November 11, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 1, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to Lee and Mary (Hall) Jackson.

Carl grew up in Dallas, Texas and spent his early years between Lawton, Oklahoma and Chicago, Illinois. He later joined the Army in 1945 and served for 3 years. He went on to open his own automobile wrecking yard, Second Avenue Wrecking, where he did auto mechanic work, sold automobile parts, and wrecked cars. He went on to do this until his retirement in 2017. 

Carl married his fourth and final wife, Querita Jackson, in 1982 in Dallas, Texas. They were happily married for 42 years and shared two children. Carl enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing dominoes, cooking, dancing, and entertaining at family gatherings. 

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Lee Jackson; his mother, Mary Lewis; and children, Richard Williams, Horace James Jackson, Clarence “Red Dog” Jackson, Charles Jackson, Gerald Jackson, Carl “Petey” Jackson Jr., Anthony Hayden, and Charles, Hayden. 

Those left to cherish Carl’s memories are his spouse, Querita Jackson of Dallas, Texas; his children, Don Williams, Harrold Jackson, Rufus Jackson, George Jackson, Wanda Jackson, Eric Jackson (Pat), Juan Jackson, Sharron Jackson (LaTasha), Elizabeth Heck-Murphy (Sabrina), Keia Heck, Dwayne Jackson (Lily), Marcy Jackson; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held at Lincoln Funeral Home and Cemetery, 8100 Fireside Drive, Dallas Texas, 75217 at 1:00pm Saturday, November 23, 2024 with burial to follow at Lincoln Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Lincoln Funeral Home and Cemetery Friday, November 22, 2024 from 6-8pm. 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice, including Jean Awosoga, Bryse Dorsey, and Alex Reilly for caring for Carl in his final days. Also, a special thanks to Diane “Di Baby” Carmichael for her support and for caring for him daily.
