Carl Levy Smith, 72, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at his home. Carl was born on October 4, 1947 in Lorman, Mississippi. He was the son of Mr. Smith and Cleotha McCall.
Carl was a Phlebotomist for many years. Carl met Delores Ann Skinner on an Amtrak train in January of 1991. He told her that he had been asking God for a wife and she was the one. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on February 27, 1993.
Carl was what some would call a homebody. He preferred to spend his time at home surrounded by family. He loved reading novels, watching war movies and a variety of documentaries. He enjoyed all sorts of sports, but football was his favorite. His preferred team of course, was the Dallas Cowboys.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Isaac McCall and Richard McCall Sr. Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Delores Skinner-Smith; children Frances Avalos (Jose), Morris Turner (Jennifer), and Gary D. Turner; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; a special niece, Andraysia Castillo (Rubin) of Annawan, IL; nephew, Richard McCall of Rock Island, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
