On February 19, 2014, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call from our midst one of His children, Chaise Nelson, who was born on July 2, 1943 in Greenville, TX to the parentage of Bertha and Alvree Nelson, Sr.
Chaise graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and entered the work force. He was known as a very good and dedicated employee.
Chaise was equally as dedicated to his family. He was a loving and devoted son, strong willed yet a compassionate person.
Staying with his trend of strength and stamina, Chaise sought the ultimate strength of God and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member until his health failed.
Chaise was preceded in death by: his father, Alvree Nelson, Sr.; and 2 brothers, Terry Nelson and Calvin Nelson.
Chaise leaves to mourn him: 6 daughters, Lisa Nelson of Denver, CO, Jackie Nelson of Denver, CO, Alicia Smith of Dallas, TX, Sherry Flowers of Dallas, TX, Toshea Stevenson of Dallas, TX, and Ursula Curvis of Dallas, TX; 2 sons, Choice E. Cannon of California, and Douglas Flowers of Dallas, TX; mother, Bertha B. Petty; 4 brothers, Alvree Nelson, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Sgt. Kenneth W. Wilkins, Sr. of Duncanville, TX, Johnny W. Petty of Dallas, TX, Raymond Nelson of Dallas, TX; one sister, Chon Nelson of California; 2 aunts, Augusta Temons and Merle Nelson; one uncle, F.L. Nelson; one devoted and loving sister-in-law, Vivian Wilkins and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
