Charles Shelby

Charles Henry Shelby, Jr. was born April 7, 1953 to the parentage of Charles Henry Shelby, Sr. (deceased) and Verdine Moore in Dallas, Texas.  He accepted Christ in his life at a very early age.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971 where he was a standout football and track athlete as well as voted best dressed by his classmates.  He attended Los Angeles City College in Los Angeles, CA.  Later, he enlisted in the United States Army and successfully completed his training in Fort Hood.  He was assigned to duty in Amsterdam Holland, Baumholder Germany and finally settled in Garmisch Germany. After several years in the military, he received an honorable discharge due to his health. He later united with the Good Shepherd PBC.

On Tuesday, March, 19, 2013, Charles departed this life in his Dallas home after a lengthy illness.  Now, there will be no more suffering and he can find peace and comfort.  He was much loved and will be missed by many.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Verdine Moore Patton of Dallas, Texas; one son, Carlos Q. Shelby (Christe) of Duncanville, Texas; one grandson, Chase Q. Shelby of Duncanville, Texas; two sisters, Ida Shelby Walker of Bryan, Texas; Dorothy Jean Willis (Theodore) of Dallas, Texas; special uncle, Earnest Moore Jr. (Pearl) of Vallejo, California; Uncle Edward Brackins,
Aunt Bonnie Moore, Cousin Mattie Holloway, Special cousins, Rhonda Moore, Reginald Moore, Ricky Moore (Dena) all of Dallas, Texas and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
