Clarence Smith was born on July 27, 1935, to the parentage of Thelma Briscoe Mitchell and Preston Smith.
He was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated with honors from Booker T. Washington High Schoo. He also attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas for two years.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest son, Kevin; sister, Mary and brother Curtis.
Survivors include his loving wife, Norma; sons, Kyle and Kendall; daughters, Kimberly and Keri (Dana); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Melva, Lynda and Myrna; brother, Larry (Vera); aunt, Esterlene; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
