Danny Ray Sims was born on July 8, 1956 to Dixie Lee Sims and Clyde Ray Burleson in Dallas, Texas. He attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1975. He was always a joyous, caring and “smiling” guy,. He was proud to say “I grew up in “Ellum Thicket or “North Park” at 6714 Tyree Street.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandmother and grandfather, Henry Lee and Myrtle Drake Sims. His grandmother “MaDear” lovingly raised Danny. He enjoyed life with his school classmates tremendously, and his close neighborhood and best friend, Randy Borders.
Danny never let anything get him down, even with his failing health, he always made every attempt to make every event, as he pushed his way through with his “red” scooter. He was a super avid sports fan - especially the “Dallas Cowboys” and he didn’t mind telling you a few thangs if you didn’t agree—with a big smile!
On Wednesday, November 26th at 4pm, the Lord sent some angels to St. Paul Hospital, Room “K” to welcome Danny to the “Upper Room” and he has now moved on up to his big new “Apartment” in the sky!
Danny leaves behind to cherish many precious memories: 3 Aunts: Dearlene Sims, Lena Evans, and Margie Stigall, a host of many beautiful relatives and friends.
