Doris James

December 11, 1929 — February 5, 2014

Life began for Doris Faye James on December 11, 1929 in Magnolia, Arkansas to the union of Green W. and Pearlie Hall.  She attended Mc Mittress High School in Arkansas, where she enjoyed playing basketball.  She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Pine Hill A.M.E Methodist Church and was a devout member and usher of True Lee Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to decline.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

After moving to Dallas, Texas, Doris met and married Willie ?Shake? James on July 24, 1951.    She was employed by Exchange (Texas American) Bank for more than 30 years in which she received several accolades.  Doris was a proud and classy woman who cherished her family.  She was a loving yet no-nonsense kind of woman, who gained the respect and love from all that met her.  After almost 45 years of marriage, Willie James preceded Doris in death on January 31, 1996.  In addition to her husband, Doris had two brothers (L.C. Glover & Floyd Lee Hall) and one sister (Arneatha Allen) to also precede her in death.  For anyone that knew Doris well, understood what a God-fearing woman she was.  Even in her last days, she could be heard professing ?I will wait on the Lord?.  The Lord saw fit to bring his child home, and with that, she entered eternal rest on February 5, 2014.

Doris is survived by her loving daughters; Evelyn James, Glenda Cash, Shirley James-Johnson (Joshua), Verita Ingram (Dexter) and her sons; Barnese Bell (Shirley) and Michael James.  She is also survived by her siblings Green Hall, Jr., Margaret Carrington, and George Hall (Patricia); grandchildren Alan Bell (Sandra), Donald Cash, Jr (Tonya), JaCoi James, Taylor Ingram, and Mallory Ingram; great-grandchildren Ashley Bell, Alanique Bell, and Kerrington James; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
