Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Butler

March 10, 1962 — December 1, 2024

Dallas

On December 1, 2024, God called home one of his toughest Soldiers Dorothy Jean Chapman Butler. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend. Her quick come backs, and beautiful smile will truly be missed. On March 10, 1962, Dorothy was welcomed into this world by parents Eugene and Elizabeth Chapman in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in West Dallas and attended Roosevelt Highschool in Dallas.

On December 18, 1986, Dorothy Butler married Albert Butler Jr who she spent the last 38 years in life with. Dorothy was a very skilled woman. In her early years of life, she owned a building cleaning service. She had a deep passion for arts and crafts. She worked in local pottery shops where she sculpted and painted fine home accessories. In later years of life, she started a concession business “Polar Sno Mobile.” She won many awards at fairs for her baked goods, BBQ ribs, and fried chicken.

Cooking was her love language. If you left her home with anything it was for sure a full stomach, and your favorite cake. She had a knack for telling it like it is, offering wisdom with a sharp wit and a warm heart. Above all she loved all her children and grandchildren fiercely and always stood behind them.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Eugene Chapman, mother Elizabeth Chapman, Nephew Alonzo Gillespie, and niece Peggie Chapman.

Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband Albert Butler Jr. brother Eugene Chapman, Sisters Mary Chapman Mcshan, Essie Mae Chapman, and step-sister Burna Chapman. Her children, Daughters, Jessica Chapman, and Jillian Butler, Sons, Sabastion Butler (ShaRon), Christopher Butler, and Jonchevi Butler. Her grandchildren, Grandsons, Xavier, Daniel, Kooper, Granddaughters, Jaide, Jordan, Aurora, Christina, Sasha, Asiah, Zinoria, Mikenzie, and Chloe. A host of cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved and cherished dearly.
