Dorothy Leffall Stafford was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on September 11, 1933 to the parents of Burnett & Nettie Leffall. She was the second of four children.
Dorothy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Her church affiliations were Willow Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Terrell and First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park under the leadership of Rev. J.L. Foster.
Dorothy married Willie James Stafford Sr. on October 4, 1952. To that union the Lord blessed them with seven beautiful children, Douglas Glenn, Yolanda Kay, Macy Lavern {Deceased}, Dorothy Chanel, Reginald Byron, Willie James Jr., and David Carl.
Dorothy was humble, kindhearted and soft spoken. She loved the Lord, her husband and her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and taking weekend trips with friends. Above all she loved welcoming guest to her home where no one was ever a stranger. She made you feel as though you were part of the family and that love never changed. Dorothy also loved family gatherings for birthdays, anniversaries, holiday dinners which were held at their home most of the time. No matter how limited the space, she still had room and love for all. The larger the numbers, the greater her smile.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Burnett and Nettie Leffall, brother Felton Leffall, sister Sarah King and daughter Macy Jackson.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her husband Willie James Sr., two daughters Yolanda Kay and Dorothy Chanel, Dallas, Texas; four sons Douglas Glenn, San Antonio, Texas, Reginald Byron, Ovilla, Texas, Willie James Jr., Terrell, Texas and David Carl, Ovilla, Texas; one sister Mae Lois Jones, Grand Prairie, Texas; one sister-n-law, Bonnie Leffall, Tyler, Texas; one brother-n-law, Claude Jones, Dallas, Texas; 18 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful neighbors and loving friends.
