Mr. Elbert Edward Thomas, Sr. was born April 15, 1929 in Franklin, Texas to Ben and Deckard Edwards. He was adopted by Luther and Alfie Esra Thomas at an early age. Both sets of parents preceded him in death. His brother Charles Henry Edwards also preceded him in death.
Elbert was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Dallas. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas and later attended Prairie View College.
He was employed with Ogden Service Co. and American Airlines for 54 years.
He is survived by: one sister, Canvis Daniels of San Francisco, CA; wife, Janice Titus; 3 sons, Elbert Thomas, Jr. (Loretta), Dwayne Thomas (Faith) and Chris Gordon; 5 grandchildren, Dwayne Jr., Derrick Thomas, Montrice, Simona and Elbert Thomas, III. He also leaves his extended family including, Keith, Lelita and Kent Titus and a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
