A REFLECTION OF ELLA MAE MC COY RODGERS?S LIFE

Ella Mae McCoy Rodgers was born March 30, 1933, to the parentage of Frank James and Lora Bishop McCoy in Marshall, Texas. Ella Mae moved to Dallas, Texas in 1956.
Ella Mae begin her career more than 40 years ago as a Master Chef. She retired from Holiday Inn with over 20 years of service. She loved cooking and caring for her family.
Next to her family, Carver Heights was her next love.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a longtime member of Carver Heights Baptist Church under the leadership of  Rev. Tyler Carter, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Society and Senior Choir member. She served faithfully until her health failed under the leadership of Rev. Daryl Carter.
Ella Mae was proceeded in death by her parents and other siblings. Ella Mae is survived by one daughter Vessie (Earl Sr) Lucas of Dallas, TX, three sons Mitchell Ray Rodgers and  Howard Lee Rodgers of Dallas, TX and Benjamin Sr (Wendy) Rodgers of DeSoto, TX. Four grandchildren Loiita (Ricky) Stribling of Dallas, TX, Earl Jr (Jackie) Lucas of Detroit, MI, Benjamin II (LaToya) Rodgers of Duncanville, TX and Roderick Rodgers of DeSoto, TX, and nine great-grandchildren. Two sisters Georgia (William) Clark of Greenville, TX, Rosie McCoy of Dallas, TX along with one brother Robert McCoy of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
