Emma Lee Nixon was born to the parentage of Alton Polk and Ivelina Harris Polk in Midway (Madison county), Texas on June 29, 1937. She was the youngest of their two lovely daughters. She received her education in Madison County Public Schools, where she graduated from Albert Lee High School on June 7, 1957. On March 31, 1957, she married Holland Nixon and they proudly raised four sons.
Despite the demands of raising her children, Emma always made time for the Lord and she never forgot those ideals that were installed in her as a small child. Because of this rearing and faith, God and family were her focal points of her life. She was a born again believer and faithful member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church for 34 years, where she loved to sing in the Women's Choir.
