OBITUARY
Emmett was born December 22, 1937 in Athens, Texas, Henderson County to the parentage of Arlee and Valentine Sneed as the oldest child of 8. He attended Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas. Emmett was initially self-employed and later worked for the City of Dallas,
He was preceded in death by his mother, Valentine Sneed; sister, Mary L. Rollins and brother, Lester Sneed.
He was united in marriage to Carrie Jones. Five children were the fruit of this union. Sharon Mosley (Ruben) of Mesquite, TX, Emmett D. Sneed, Jr., (Rose- mary) of Mesquite, TX, Timothy E. Sneed ((Pamela) of Dallas, TX, Pamela Sneed Roberts of Dallas, TX, Angela Sneed Horace of Frisco, TX. Prior to the marriage to Carrie, Rev. Sneed was blessed with a daughter, Barbara Ann Torres, San Francisco, CA.
He was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was later ordained as a Minister under the late Reverend H. Haggerty and continued his duty under the direction of Reverend S.T. Tutson.
He leaves to mourn: His brothers and sisters, R. L. Sneed (Linda), Vernice Johnson, Deacon Sammy Sneed (Betty), Brenda Simmons, and Billy Joe Sneed, all of Dallas. He also leaves behind to continue his legacy: 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, and many other rela- tives and friends.
