Eula Delley

Eula B. Delley was born to the parents of John Edward Shotwell and Lucinda Hamilton Shotwell in Alto, Texas on July 21, 1923 . She was the younger of two children; both parents and her sister, Birdietta Fennell as known as Birdie, preceded her in death.      Eula was given the nickname ?Sang? when she was a little girl. She accepted the Lord Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized in the faith at an early age. She grew up worshipping and serving God at New Hope Baptist Church in Alto, TX under the late Rev. E.O. Sweet. She was a diligent worker in the church. She attended Alto public school, played the saxophone and piano, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She and her sister, Birdie, later left Alto and moved San Francisco, CA before coming to Dallas. While in Dallas, she met and married Cato Christopher ?C.C.? Delley in 1948, who preceded her in death in 1983. To this union 3 children were born; Edward C. Delley, Sr.. proceeded her in death, her twins Coella Wells, Rayella Boyd, adopted son Paul Sisterand Delly, preceded her in death, and Sandra Delley, daughter in law & surviving spouse of Edward C. Delley, Sr..      She united with New Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and served as a faithful member under the leaderships Pastor G.T. Britt, Rev. W.J. Shackleford, who both proceeded her in death. She remain an active member until her begin health fail under the leadership of Pastor B. L. Bell, Sr.. She was a member of Mission One for 60 years now under the current Pastor Billy Bell. . She was a member of the Courts of Calanthia, an American Woodman for over 40 years, a Sunday school teacher,  and a Spoken Word Artist. During her years of employment she worked at Master Machine Company, West Dallas Drug Store, Gaston Oaks Baptist Church, and with her husband from sun up to sun down on numerous projects.      After the death of her sister, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. After a lengthy illness, the Lord called her to come home. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.      She leaves cherished fond memories to her twins, Coella Wells (Isaac), and Rayella Boyd, Elzora Hamilton (Aunt), Sandra Delley, eight grandchildren: Ronay Matthews (Darryl), Cydnei Wells, Keith Delley (Annissa), Chevis Boyd (Sheena), Shuneice Ross (Larry) of Tyler, Edward Delley, Jr.. Of McKinney, Edrick Charles Mangrum (Kelia), Timmy Miner (Tracy), Andre Cooper (Scharen), all of Dallas and, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews, Renwick Fennell and Roderwick Fennell (Melody), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her Best Friends: Murrah Johnson, Emma Turner, and Odessa Jones.





Wake: Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 7-8pm at Lincoln Funeral Home.
