Frances Oneita Hoskins Compton Barnes was born June 24, 1926 in Big Sandy, Texas to the parentage of Ed and Alice Hoskins (preceded in death). She was appropriately nicknamed "Teen Baby" as the last sibling of 10 all who preceded her in death: Ralph, Willie, Cora, Geneva, Edih, Henri Mae, Grace, Imogene and Eunadell.
At an early age she united with Hoskins Chapel CME Church in Big Sandy, TX and completed her education in the Texas School system. She move to Dallas in 1947. In 1948 she was united in Holy matrimony to the late Mr. Willie B. Compton who Preceded her in death in June 1972. to this union one child was born, Anita Williette Compton Randall. She later married Mr. Clinton Barnes Jr. who preceded her in death in 1977.
Frances joined Ezell Chapel in 1953 where she served in many different capacities: Trustee, Church Secretary, Senior Choir, member of The Gospeltones, Convention Delegate, Stewardess Board, Finance Committee, Secretary of the Missionary Society. She was a union member and worked at the V.A. Hospital from 1963 until she retired in 1989.
She leave to cherish her memory a daughter: Anita W. Compton Randall (James), 2 grand daughters; Sheba Mitchell and Nicole Randall. 4 great-grandchildren; Ronald McCoy (Katessa), Ade' Henderson, Terence Mitchell, Terrell Mitchell. 3 Great-Great Grand children; Saniya & Mariyah McCoy, and Jameire Robinson. Longtime friends Letha Thomas, Bonnie Jackson, and church daughter Jackie Hamilton, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
