Fred Alvin Jones was born on Oct. 24, in Hubbard, Texas, to the parents Rosie Lee Bell-Jones and Dan Alvin Jones. He attended and graduated Salutatorian from Phyllis Wheatley High School. He retired from the Military and Postal Service.
He married his high school sweetheart, Merle LaVerne Jones, June 26, 1957. They were married 47 years. She remained a faithful servant of Jehovah God throughout her life. Fred was baptized as dedicated witness and remained a faithful servant of Jehovah throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughters Joyce White and Lisa Johnson (Woodrow Johnson). Four grandchildren, Natasha Bledsoe, Donald Johnson, Nathaniel Mullins III and Joydyn Bledsoe, Three great-grandchildren Makayla Johnson, Mason Johnson and McKenzie Johnson. Special mention to son-in-law Brodrick Bledsoe for assisting in any way he could to take care of his poppie. His sisters Wanda Peters, Lillie Kimble, Beverly Jones, Carolyn Mitchell, Lisa Scott and Latruneia Mitchell. Nephews Vincent Peters, Eric Peters, Terrance Boone and Vernon Peters. Chaucer Luke, Ramon Luke and Adrian Luke. Two special “grandchildren” Twishika Johnson and Ja’Nasia Phillips who won his heart from birth.
