Freddie Mae Taylor was born in Madisonville, Texas on January 7, 1933, to the late Willie Collins and Lucille Bartely.
Freddie graduated as valedictorian from her high school, where she was also a star player on the basketball team. She went on to attend Paul Quinn College. She later left college to marry the love of her life, John Edward Taylor.
She worked for many years as a domestic worker, where she had the privilege to bond with several great families. She was employed by the Rain family for many years prior to her retirement.
She loved the lord, and was a faithful servant. As a member of the Lamb of God Baptist Church she served with a smile on the Usher Board. She was a wonderful Bible school teacher. She served the Lord with unending gladness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Taylor; mother, Lucille Bartely; father, Willie Collins, Sr.; brother, Willie Collins, Jr.; sons Edward Taylor and Arthur Ray Taylor; grandsons, Timothy Lynn Taylor, Timothy Deshun Taylor and Bradford Wright, Jr.; nephew, Joe Curtis Collins; and nieces, Gwen and Yolanda Collins.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her son, Bobby Earl Taylor; daughters, Shirley Wright (Bradford), Patricia Bethany (Allan), Vanessa Mullen (Aaron) and Therisa Blue (Bernard Herod); grandchildren, Tara, Damon, Shannon, Candra, Taylor, Tedrick, Consuela, Stephan, Andrian and Auturo Taylor, Kiesha and Terrail Bethany, Jim, Megan, Peter, Marian, Caitlin Rain; Julie Williams, and Erica Barnes; and a host of grand-nieces, nephews and friends.
