George Henry Smith was born December 28, 1938 to the parentage of Henry and Zenada Smith in Palestine, TX. George received his formal education in Palestine, TX.
He joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He met and married Joyce M. Lewis on March 19, 1975. There were no children born to this union.
George was employed with Coca Cola Bottling Co. and was the first African American with a sales route in Palestine, TX. After his years with Coca Cola, George became the owner and operator of G & J Landscaping and was in business for over 20 years until his health began to fail.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Smith and Mattie L. Smith.
