Helen (Granny) was born in Dallas, Texas on July 30, 1937 to John Leslie and Morey Page Ector, who preceded her in death. Helen attended Saint Peter Catholic School, J.W. Ray Elementary School and graduated from Booker T Washington High School.
Helen worked for American Airlines for 14 years as a cook. She worked for the City of Dallas for 14 years as a school crossing guard and was a foster parent for over a hundred children for more than 20 years.
At an early age Helen accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour under the leadership of her grandfather Bishop Emmett Morey Page. She later united with Elizabeth Chapel CME Church where she served until her health failed.
Helen leaves to cherish her loving memories: Daughters: Paula "Denise" Williams of Juneau, Alaska, Kara Ector Frazier (Julian) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lenka M. Ector and Morey R. Ector of Dallas, Texas; son: Keith B Ector, Derrick L. Ector and Frederick King all of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren: Denetria "Dede" Priest of Holland the Netherlands, LaKesha D. Lowrie, Rashwandra A Ector, Eterntiy R Morgan, Courtney A Lowrie, DeNarius Clark, Usul Williams and Hailey M Ector;. great grandchildren: Soniyah J Johnson, Jamarian S. Ector, Tyrhianna "Honeybun " Clark-Brown and Rocco Williams; one sister Morey Wright of Los Angeles, California; one brother John Leslie Ector of Bloomingfield, Connecticut; three sisters: Mollye Banks, Pearl "Sisterbaby" James and Marcelene Stewart who preceded her in death. And a host of other relatives and friends.
