Henry Allen Jones II

Henry A. Jones II, born on January 10, 1948, to Henry A. Jones and Julia Eleanor Brown, lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. Raised in a family that taught the values of hard work and community, he graduated from Lincoln High School, setting the stage for a future filled with purpose and connection.

In 1967, Henry met the love of his life, Alice Faye Dupree, at a retail store where he worked as a forklift driver. Their connection was instant, and they soon married, beginning a beautiful partnership that would last through the decades. In 1968 they welcome their first son who tragically passed away at the age of 13 proceeding his wife's Alice's death. With unshaken love of memories of his wife and son Henry went on as a single parent taking care of his three daughters, Valoria, Felicia, and Martinique. Henry was a constant source of support, ensuring that Alice pursued her dreams and went on to become a licensed nurse, a path she embarked on thanks to Henry's encouragement.

Henry’s love for Alice was immeasurable, and their bond was a testament to the strength of their partnership. Sadly, in 1981, Alice passed, leaving a void in Henry’s heart. Yet, he continued to honor her memory, carrying on with the values they had built together.

In life, Henry was a man of many passions. He loved the simple joys of fishing, swimming at the beach, playing dominoes, cards, and pool, and taking long rides with his daughters. He was an avid traveler, enjoying the thrill of new places, and could always be found socializing with friends and family. Whether it was racing, dancing, or lending a hand to someone in need, Henry had a spirit of generosity that defined him. He took pride in his work, having held various jobs over the years as a forklift driver, city bus and school bus driver, Frito Lay employee, Southern Maid Doughnuts worker, and later as a licensed security officer. He trained at the Texas Security Officers Institute and D&L Security Academy all while still maintaining his CDL. During his journey, he became a licensed minister at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where he became a member.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice, his son Henry A. Jones III and his sisters Barbara Jones and Patricia Burgess. He is survived by his daughters Valoria G. Spurling (husband Vincent Spurling), Felicia V. Dockery, and Martinique D. Allen (husband Michael Allen), and his cherished grandchildren, Travorius Jones, William Dockery III, and great-granddaughter, Amina Dockery. He also leaves behind his dear siblings, Carolyn Dunbar, Gloria Hayes, Brenda Coleman(Lloyd Coleman), Larry Jones(wife Betty Jones), along with his brother-in-law Wilbur Burgess. A host of nephews and nieces, Ralph Hayes Jr (Jazmin Hayes), Wendell Hayes(Tina Hayes), Larry Jones Jr, Tawana Coleman, and Tiffany Coleman-will forever carry their memory in their hearts. He also leaves behind his great nephews and nieces, Seth Hayes(Julyssa Hayes), Vanessa Hayes, Wendell Hayes Jr, Taylor Lopez (Herman Lopez) and Zariah Hawkins, as well as, his great-great nephew and niece, Hezekiah Hayes and Amaya Hayes.

Henry’s life was marked by a deep love for family, a passion for helping others, and a dedication to living life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Immediately following the funeral, there will be a repast for family and friends to attend. It will be held at Janie C. Turner Recreational Center: 6424 Elam Road, Dallas, Texas 75217
