Homerzell Bryant

November 6, 1927 — June 19, 2015

Mrs. Homerzell Bryant was born November 6, 1927 in Marshall, Texas.  She was the fourth of four children of the late John and Eliza Washington.  She moved to Dallas in 1933 and completed her education at Lincoln High School in 1945.

Homerzell met the handsome Mr. Milton L. Bryant, Sr., whose parents were next door neighbors to her parents.  They married on February 28, 1954.  This union was blessed and produced four children.  Her early work experiences include cashier and the textile industry until 1975.  She loved cooking, shopping, going to Church and good preaching.

Homerzell was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Riverside Baptist Church early in life.  She truly loved God and in 1970 she became a part of the Beth Eden Baptist Church, serving tirelessly as Usher Board president for 40 plus years.  Some of her other activities include teaching Sunday School, and working with the Pastor’s Aid and Women’s Ministry. She was also the Church custodian for 20 years until 2003.  She was naturally one of many BEBC shining “Silver Stars”.  Many here can say they were somewhat raised by her.  She was well-loved by Beth Eden.

The last worship service she attended was Easter Sunday in March 2013.  Her health began to decline further bur she believed the Lord would always take care of her until the end.  We are thankful to God for her long life.

Homerzell was preceded in death by Milton her husband of 53 years.  Survivors are three daughters and one son, Sharon B. Dawn (William), Milton L. Bryant, Jr. (Rose), Diana B. Johnson (Kim Lance), and Bren Bryant Anderson (Andy); one granddaughter, seven grandsons, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
