Italy Henson

Mother Italy Henson was born May 16, 1921 to the late
Idessa and Mable Davis Lee in Red Bird, Oklahoma.
Mother Henson grew up in Milam, Texas. She attended
Milam Public School and accepted Christ at an early age
at the Milam Methodist Church.

After leaving Milam, Mother Henson moved to Dallas and
joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under
the late Rev. Getral Wright.

In 1938, she married the late Lester Henson, Sr., who
preceded her in death. Five sons, one daughter and four
brothers also preceded her in death.

Mother Henson departed this life on Monday, October
21, 2013 at the Doctor Hospital of Dallas.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Six
daughters: Arnell Smith of Ft. Worth, TX, Bonnie Joiner,
Gaylean (Robert) Clack, Priscilla Polk, all of Dallas, Texas,
Emma Myers, Betsy Billops of Frisco, Texas; four sons,
Lester Henson, Jr., Roy Neal Henson, Herbert Wayne
Henson, Jimmy Charles Henson, all of Dallas, TX; 29
grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 8 great great
grandchildren; one aunt, Ms. Rosie Mae Lee; sister-in-law,
Mrs. Fannie Lee; and a host of other relatives and frien
