Janet Richardson transitioned to her new home on a cloudy humid day. She died after a long illness in Dallas on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 68. She left behind a family who loved her dearly. She was a sister, mother, aunt, sister-in-law, and a devoted wife. Janet was always the problem-solver and a phenomenally creative person. She had a penchant for crafting works of art with the finest of detailing. She always had some project going, keep her talented “sweet hands” busy.
Janet Richardson was born in Dallas, Texas to parents Mr. Nance (Ponder) and Leora Garner. She attended James Madison High School in Dallas and worked in the creative field thereafter. She was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Henderson, parents, brothers and sisters, Tommy L. Garner, Clarence Garner, Jr., George W. Garner, William Garner, James Garner, Margaret Ford, Dorothy Garner and Della McGuire. She is survived by her four children, Danny Henderson, Jr., Melanie Turner, Lauren Holloway and Henry Holloway, and sisters Cloteal Turner, Mae Cooper and Sarah Jones Cook, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Janet was intentional, humorously quick-witted and generous. But when that woman set her mind to something, nothing got in her way which is where the love story of Janet and husband Henry begins. She was proud and protective of their union. That story has no ending because their love simply endures . . . We are honored to celebrate with Henry, Janet’s bon voyage: her next journey into a realm that, like love, knows no boundaries.
