Jefferson Wigfall Sr. was born February 10, 1924 in West, Texas to the parentage of Reverend Pinkney Wigfall,Sr.and Rosie Lee Shaw Wigfall. He received his formal education in the Waco Independent School District and attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. He enlisted in the US Army, March 17, 1943 where he served overseas in New Guinea and Central Burma during the Korean War and World War II. On December 2, 1945, he received an honorable discharge and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal of Honor and two Bronze Stars.
Jeff, as he was known to most, as a young man was an entrepreneur. He owned and operated his own construction and hauling businesses as well as a shoe repair business for many years. He later worked for Lone Star Gas Company and Dallas County until his retirement.
On May 15, 1947, he united in holy matriomony with Margaret Turner and to this union seven children were born. He later met and married Undral Daye and they too, had another son and a daughter.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was saved and baptized with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. In 1980, he was ordained as a minister under the teaching of Reverend David Terrell with the New Testament Holiness Church Ministries and traveled throughout the United States preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through this ministry many souls were saved. He loved and served the LORD all the remaining days of his life.
Jefferson Wigfall Sr., was preceded in death by his father and mother, six brothers; Curtis Wigfall, Pinkney Wigfall Jr., Steve Wigfall, Andrew Wigfall, Sammie Wigfall and Billy Wigfall; two sisters Pearlie and Odessa Wigfall and a daughter; Brenda Daniels who died March 27, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memories and await his glorious resurrection, his children and their mothers: Jefferson Wigfall Jr., (Patricia), Diane Deloris Vaughn, Shelia Fadipe (Ola), Wonda Traylor, Margaret Olds, Chiquitha Malena (Ben) and their mother Margaret Silas; Joseph Wigfall and Cynthia Wigfall and their mother Undral Wigfall all of Dallas, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
