Jeffie Mae Spencer was born March 8, 1924 in Leesburg, Texas to the parents of Vessie and Charlie Davis. She was the oldest of 3 siblings, her brother Charles Oscar Davis and sister, Doris Miller.
She received her basic education in Camp County. Jeffie Spencer made a profession of faith and was baptized at an early age. Jeffie was married to Overton Spencer for 12 years and the marriage was legally dissolved. From that union 6 children were born. In 1953, she moved to Dallas where she resided until her death.
Jeffie Spencer was preceded in death by her parents, Vessie and Charlie Davis; daughter, Vessie Leola Spencer and sister, Doris Miller.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by 7 children, Overton Spencer, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Annie Jackson of Houston, Texas, Major Rhodes of Dallas, Texas, Vera Pierce of Seagoville, Texas, Alex Spencer of Dallas, Texas, Frederick Spencer of Dallas, Texas and Clifford Taylor of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren, Janice Jackson, Houston, Texas,Pamela Rhodes of Dallas, Texas, Ronald Rhodes, of Blue Mound, Texas, Mack Pierce of Balch Springs, Texas, Elanna Pierce-Phillpott of Dallas, Texas, Elaine Simpkins of Balch Springs, Texas , (Reverend) Christopher Rhodes of Louisville, Kentucky, Christal Rhodes of Irving, Texas, Alex Spencer, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Broshay Hickman of Balch Springs, Texas, Angel Reese of Garland, Texas, Stephanie Jones, of Dallas, Texas, Tyesha McElroy of Dallas, Texas and Myesha McElroy of Dallas Texas; 18 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; 3 great great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation: 12-6pm Monday, May 14, 2012 at Lincoln Funeral Home.
