Jessie Carlisle

December 24, 1916 — November 20, 2013

Mrs. Jessie Mae Carlisle was born on December 24,1916 to the union of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. and Pearl Wallace.  She was the second of ten children.



In 1940 she met and married Mr. Reecy Smith, Sr. and to this union one son was born. On January 1, 1971, she met and married Mr. Earnest Carlisle. There were no children born to this union.



Mrs. Carlisle joined the Magnolia C.M.E. Church under the pastorage of Rev. A. Walton. She was a devoted member of the Trustee Board. She served as President of the Senior Usher Board, a sponsor of the Junior Ushers, Vice President of the Missionary Society and President of the Stewardess for many years.  Mrs. Carlisle enjoyed serving and working for the Lord.



Mrs. Jessie Mae Carlisle was very active in other organizations: Youth Deputies of the Eastern Star #11, Star Matron of the Order of Eastern, Chapter #4. She organized and served as Royal Matron of the Amaranth #114, Queen of the South #68 and Mbr. Order of the Golden Circle. She was President of the PTA at J. J. Rhoads from 1965 to 1969. She volunteered at Jubilee Aid Center serving as member, Assistant Secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors.



Mrs. Carlisle worked 27 years for the Dallas Independent School District as a Dietician. She was an excellent cook.



She was preceded in death by her husbands, Reecy Smith, Sr. and Earnest Carlisle; son, Reecy Smith, Jr.; parents, S. B. and Pearl Wallace; 4 brothers, Luther Wallace, York Wallace, John Wallace and Eddie Wallace.



She leaves cherished memories to her granddaughter, Kimberly Smith-McCoy (Cedric); grandson, Jeremiah Johnson; great grandchildren, Ce?Riah McCoy, Cemaria McCoy; brother, Spencer B. Wallace (Janice); 4 sisters, Gussie F. Nix, Willie M. Fagan, Pearlia M. Derrick (Johnny B.) Evangelist Dora L. Jones; goddaughter, Andrenett Hayes-Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends.
