The Life Reflections of Johnny MacArthur (Mac) Jones

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7

Johnny MacArthur Jones fondly called "Mac" by his family was born August 20, 1959 to the late Mr. Louis and Mrs. Essie Jones. He learned early in life his personal path of duty and followed it with unselfishness and dedication until his passing.

He was married to Regina Jones and they happily shared life together. They planned a long happy future but God saw best to call Johnny home on October 18, 2013.

Johnny graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 1977. He began his pursuit of his dreams to work in law enforcement. He attended El Centro College and received a degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career in 1983 as a Recreation Officer for the Dallas County Sheriff Department where he was responsible for the fitness program of the inmates. Johnny attended and graduated from the Academy of the Fort Worth Police Department in December 1986 as a Public Police Officer. He was employed by the Dallas County Sheriff's Department as a Detention Service Officer for three years. In November 1989, he joined the Dallas County Constable Office where he served with dedication as a Deputy Constable at Precinct 2 until his passing. Johnny earned many certificates and awards during his career.

Johnny's most rewarding award was his membership at Pilgrim Rest Missionary  Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C. W. Wallace. He served on the Law Enforcement Ministry and was a member of the Brotherhood and the Male Chorus for 9 years. Very rarely would you not find him on his post. His last letter found in his Bible a few days ago by his wife was addressed to "Pastor Wallace and my church family" He asked for your prayers and ended it with thanking God for His grace. He found much comfort in reading Psalms 37 and he patterned his life accordingly.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Regina Jones; two children from a previous marriage; son, Kevin (Kristen) and daughter, Tamara (Aldric); sisters, Ruby Abram, Ophelia Strange (Jodie), Lois Jones (Rob); brothers, Clyde Jones (Cynthia), Joe Jones (Annie), Raymond Jones; grandchildren, Ayden Jones, Kaysen Jones; a very special friend, Michael Ervin and a host of other relatives and friends.
