Josephine Walker was born January 27, 1926 to the union of Culberson and Zelma Walker in Gonzales,Texas. Josephine was one of nine children: Cecil, Vernice, Lawrence, Edgar, John, Willie, Evelyn and Sue.
Josephine received her formal education from the Gonzalez and Garland School Districts. In 1945,
Josephine moved to Chicago where she was very involved in the lives of her family. She was employed at Lavizza Manufacturing until she returned to Garland, TX to care for her mother 1979. She later returned to work for the Garland Independent School District until she retired.
Josephine accepted Christ at an early age where she was a lifelong member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Josephine was married and had one daughter Geneva Smith Ransfer.
Josephine went to join the Lord on December 30, 2014. She leaves behind her daughter Geneva Ransfer of Chicago IL, two grandsons, Terrance (Felecia) Ransfer of Houston, TX and Keith Ransfer of Mesquite, TX; two great-grandsons Carrington and Chandler of Houston TX and her sister Evelyn Deans of Garland TX, nieces Bevelyn. Josie, Florence Ann, Shirley, and Yolanda; nephews John Richard, William, Edward Charles, Tyrone and Jerome along with a host of other relatives and friends.
