Mr. L.H. Harper was born August 19, 1924, in Dangerfield, Texas, to the late Mr. I.G. Harper, Sr. and the late Johnnie Foreman Harper. After the death of his mother, his father married the late Mary Lee Harper and she raised him and his siblings as her children.
He attended school in Cason, Texas, and Pittsburg, Texas. He joined the Navy in October of 1943 and discharged in December of 1945.
Mr. L.H. Harper was called to eternal rest on September 11, 2014. He was devoted to his brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He loved all of his family.
He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas Harper, Sr. and Willie Watson; and sister, Virgie Whitmore.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving niece, Mrs. Jera Brown (Welton); one brother, Mr. I.G. Harper, Jr. of Gladewater, Texas; three sisters, Ms. Elmer Ree Johnson of Jacksonville, Texas, Ms. Ella Mae Burns of Dallas, Texas, Ms. Ethel D. Morrison of Tyler, Texas; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
