Larry was born on February 14, 1935 in Aubrey, Arkansas. Larry lived with his parents until his mom’s untimely passing when he was a child. Larry moved with other family after that. However, Larry chose to become independent and courageously took care of himself from a very young age after that. Larry traveled and made friends and family along the way. Larry always had a quick tongue and knew how to make the best out of any situation. He was a very resilient and strong man. He met and married Bessie Wimbley and lived in Dallas, Texas until her time of departure from this earth in 2017. They were married over 50 years. Larry was employed by Dallas ISD and Richardson ISD until his retirement. Larry always worked hard to take care of his family. He enjoyed at one point, racing his collectible cars at the drag strip, playing pool, up keeping his cars, and keeping in close contact with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Otis Wimbley and Bert Bethea; and daughter Sheila Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Latoya Jamell Wimbley; four grandchildren, Tahj, Amiyah, Shederick (RJ), and Amadeus (AJ); three brothers, Cleo Bethea (Chicago), Louis Wimbley (Arkansas), and Thomas Bethea (Arkansas); one sister, Naomie Wimbley (Louisiana), and a host of loving sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Tributes God saw he was getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put His arms around him And whispered, “Come with me” With tearful eyes, I watched him suffer And saw him fade away Although I loved him dearly I could not make him stay A golden heart stopped beating, Hardworking hands to rest; God broke my heart to prove to me He only takes the best. Jamell “Pretty” Thanks for loving us Papa! We will miss you. Amiyah, RJ, and AJ Papa, I will always love you and you will be missed. Tahj Acknowledgements We express sincere thanks and gratitude to our friends and family for the expressions of love shown to our family. Your prayers, telephone calls, and other expressions of love and kindness meant so very much to us. We pray that each of you will be showered with God’s blessings. -The Family
