On July 21, 1933, Learsce Williams Collins was born the oldest of four children to LW and Effie Lee Williams, who both preceded her in death.
She attended Dunbar High School in Ferris Texas. While there she worked her summers at the Adolphus Hotel in catering. After high school, she went to work at the Jeffery farm where she met and married Eli Collins; six children were born to this union. Due to her love and kindness of hearth, she would later extend her family with another daughter.
In 1952 Learsce was saved and confessed her life to Christ at a revival led by her uncle, Elder James Runnels. A year later she joined him in his ministry ans was one of the first two members of Louise Street COGIC. In 1954, the church relocated and became Holmes street COGIC. In 1971, after years of devoted service to the church, she and her daughters moved to Phoenix, Arizona and became members of the church. She devoted more than 20 years of service to the usher board, mother's board, nurse's aide and hospitality committee amongst several other auxiliaries.
To cherish her memories, she leaves behind her sister, Ann Ross (George), brothers LC Williams, Jimmy Williams (Shellie), and Kenneth W. Williams; a stepmother Mealie Williams (Mattie Thomas & Michael Tanner), daughters Virginia Collins, Joyce Marie Collins, Peggy Winrow (Tony), Laline Collins, Teresa Holmes (James), Judy Reynolds, Kiolli Norwood (R. Jay),13 grandchildren, 1 preceded in death Shantel Pierce, a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
