“For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
A Time to be Born: Winter was the season; on the 4th day of February 1960 a beautiful baby girl came into this world. Her loving devoted parents Lester “LC” and Hazel Ross named her Lestine Renee, affectionately known as “Tina”, who they shielded, sheltered and showered with love and protection.
A Time to Love: She joined in holy matrimony with Ronnie Benjamin Johnson in November 28, 1987 and their marital journey began. They served as godparents and mentors to many. Tina always inspired everyone she met. She had a compassion and a giving spirit of unselfishness.
Tina inspired us with her zest for life; she lived a life committed to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her family and friends. Tina served to instill Christian values and encouraged strong educational achievements.
A Time to Serve: Tina was a virtuous woman of enormous faith. She was a detailed organizer and dedicated servant of God. At an early age she united with Union Mission Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas where her grandparents Jesse and Ruby Ross Sr. literally first built the church brick-by-brick, prayer-by-prayer and song-by-song. Tina and Ronnie joined First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park where they faithfully served in the Family Ministry; they were the Family of the Year in 1996. Tina was a member of the Mass and Women’s Choir and active with the Women’s Ministry; also a member of the Willing Vessels Ministry. They recently joined Friendship Baptist Church in The Colony, Texas.
A Time to Plant: She was a graduate of El Dorado High School and Louisiana Tech University where she received her bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. She received her Masters from Amberton University. Career highlights include working at Texas Instrument-Engineering, CellStar-Financial Analyst, and Raytheon as their Financial Manager. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Chief Financial Officer of LC Ross Scholarship Foundation.
A Time to Laugh: She enthusiastically celebrated friends and family accomplishments with great joy and dimple-filled laughter. She served her community as an angel. She always knew how to bring people together and to get the best out of everyone while still having fun.
A Time to Lose: On Wednesday, January 28, 2015 when the hour came, she quietly slept away while in the bosom of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was proceeded in death by her parents.
A Time to Weep: “I always loved you and I know you loved me, but when God takes me home weep and then let me go”. Tina Ross Johnson.
