Lillie Mae Jernigan Jackson was the third child of the late Finnie and Ophelia Jernigan in Greenwood, Louisiana.
She accepted Christ at an early age at New Boggy Baptist Church in Greenwood, Louisiana. Lillie Mae moved to Dallas in 1940, where she met and married Jesse J. Jackson. The couple united with Hill Avenue Baptist Church.
To this union five children were born. Her husband Jesse preceded her in death, and her 2 sons: Jimmy and Charles also preceded her in death. Her siblings, 2 sisters and 1 brother also preceded her in death.
Lillie Mae will be greatly missed and cherished by: 3 daughters, Fannie Fuller, Vivian Carter (Edward), and Annie Preston; 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and a host of other family members and friends.
