Lois Kathleen Payne was born to the parentage of Jesse & Gladys Pointer on April 6,
1931 in Arlington, Texas. She was one of 10 children. The
Pointer family was tight knit, and spent most of their time in church. She accepted
Christ at an early age. Because of the segregation laws she attended I M Terrell High School in Fort Worth, where she had a daily commute from Arlington. She met many friends &
was well liked. At the tender age of 18, she met and married John Simon Payne and to
this union 5 children were born. She was a God fearing woman and encouraged each
of her children individually. She even made time for the friends of her children
in the neighborhood and beyond. All while being second Momma to her nieces and
nephews. She lived a wonderful life of Family, Faith, Hope and Love.
She started her career early on at Texas Instruments, and retired from General
Dynamics in the early 90's. After retirement, her primary focus became her
grandchildren. They brought her so much joy. She was the epitome of love, and they
enjoyed spending time with her. As they grew older, got married, and started having
kids of their own, she became Great Granny, quite possibly her highest honor.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Her sisters, Hazel and Novella, and
brothers Grady, Allen, Jesse and Edsel. Her only son, John and daughter
Stephanie.
She will be sorely missed by those left behind. Daughters, Sabrina, Sharon and
Sandra. Grandchildren, Tiffany, (Alberto), Kristal, (Otis) April, (Matthew) Ashlee,
Simon (Zanae) Brittany, and Stephon; Great grands, Kristany, Kobe, Sebastian,
