Mamie Nell Holmes

Mamie Nell Holmes, was born on July 12, 1950, in Ferris Texas, to the late Mollie Mae and Frank Ashby.

She worked as an in-house nurse and retired from Square D Electrical Company.

Mamie graduated from John F Kennedy High School with the class 1968. She attended Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music, shopping, doing hair, Djing, playing bingo, and naming all of her family and friend's children.

Mamie is preceded in death by her brothers, SSGT Frank Ashby, Jr., and Ret. Tech Sergeant Ivory Charles Ashby; daughter, Chalaundria Ladawn Ashby; and grandchildren, Xavier Z. Ashby and Destiny B.N. Ashby.

Survivors include her daughter, Maeleshure T. Beckworth (Douglas); son, Montez A.D. Ashby; sister-in-law, Barbara Ashby; grandchildren, Kenneth D.B. Ashby, Franeique C.D. Ashby, Avier D.F. Ashby, and Za'Ryan A. Ashby; and four play sisters, whom she loved dearly, the late Mary Clark, Anna Chappel, Belinda Pierce and Marilyn (K.K.) Sullemon.
