Mary Kelly

Mary Christine Kelly was born in Ben Wheeler, TX December 25, 1926 to
the parentage of the late Archie and Winnie Ryer Johnson. She received her
formal education at Red Land High School where she was Salutatorian of
her class.

She moved to Dallas, TX later in life where she worked as a housekeeper
for over 50 years. Christine married James Kelly February 22, 1966 and
was together 19 years until he preceded her in death. She received Christ at
an early age, and was a member of New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, under
the direction of the late Rev. Willie Richards.

Christine was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 step-sister; 2
great-granddaughters: NaKietha Gipson, and KeVonna Hammonds.
She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters: Y'Vonna Griffin (John L),
Brenda Wesley, Rhea Bowen; 1 brother: William H. Kennedy; 2 step-
sisters; Rozell Sykes, Vera Armstrong; 7 grandchildren: Byron, Victor,
Steven and Kevin Hammonds, Adrina Manley, Kendrick Booty, and
Krystal Green all of whom are from Dallas, TX; 11 great-grandchildren and
a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
