Mattie Edgar was born October 23, 1913 in Campti, Louisiana to the parentage of the late Octavia Royston and William Henry Royston. She was the second of four children. She moved to Dallas, Texas in the Mid 1950's and she joined Arlington Park First Baptist Church. She was an active member and she became The President of Women Mission and a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. She served faithfully.
Mattie loved the Lord and always shared the gospel. She was a Spiritual Leader and helped those in need. She personified what a Woman of God, wife, mother and friend should be. She was a virtuous woman.
She is preceded in death, by her only child, the late William Henry Ray, and Daughter in Law, Francis Ray.
She leaves to cherish: Grand-daughter, Carolyn Michelle Ray, nephew, Terry Walter, niece, Mamie Tindale and five great-nieces, eight great-nephews and a host of great-great-nieces and great-great nephews, many relatives and devoted friends.
