Milton Douglas

January 24, 1953 — March 7, 2013

Milton Wayne Douglas, the eldest son of George M. Douglas and Mary Lou Douglas was born January 24, 1953 in McKinney, Texas.
A 1971 graduate of McKinney High School , excelled in academics, baseball , band and a vocalist with the Madrigal Singers.  Milton?s inspiration to become a pharmacist was influenced by Pharmacist George Webb owner of Northside Pharmacy- McKinney and by his cousin Nancy W. Sims of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Upon graduation from Texas Southern School of Pharmacy in 1977, Milton became registered by the State Board of Pharmacy to practice in Texas.  While at Texas Southern University he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
He married his high school and college sweetheart Balleria Harden of Ft. Worth, Texas in June 1978.   They were blessed with two sons, Milton and Aaron.
After relocating to Dallas, Milton worked for Treasury Drugs , Revco,  Eckerd?s and finally CVS where he retired after 30 plus years due to health reasons.  Milton had hoped to never retire because of his love of his profession.
He was very smart, witty, caring, outgoing and a giving person never meeting a stranger.  Even in sickness, he was offering consultation from his bedside.  Anyone knowing Milton knew he loved the Lord, his church, his family and cars (the faster the better).  Classic cars from GTO?s to whatever he was driving, had to be fast. Then there was the motorcycles and boat.  He loved all kinds of music and played the saxophone.
His hobbies included golf, baseball and softball.  He built his own deck, drew up the blueprints for his kitchen remodeling project.  He was sometimes known as the ? Gadget Man? due to always having the latest technological innovations.
While at First Baptist, he was a Trustee, Deacon, Leader of the Sheppard Boys, Family Ministry member, Yoke Fellows, started ?The Net?, mowed the church lawn, played on the softball team, professional speaker to youth during vacation bible school and a member of the Beaus & Debs committee.  His favorite book of the bible was James.  In the community, he served as community watchman, chairman of the Berkner High School Booster Club Golf Tournament and the High School Mentoring Program.

On March 7, 2013 at 6:30 p.m, Milton transitioned from his earthly home to glory where he will no longer suffer.  We wanted to keep him  here in our presence but God knew what was best for him.
