Missouri Scott

April 28, 1920 — May 7, 2017

Missouri Wooley Scott was born in Church Hill, Mississippi, on April 28 1920, to the late Melvin and Mary Wooley. She was a young girl when her family moved to Wisner, Louisiana. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at Holly Grove Baptist Church at an early age. In 1940, she married Willie Swayzer Scott, Sr. and moved to Natchez, Mississippi.  They had five children. She was a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as First Lady, she served in Missions and always on a mission to help those in need. She presently is a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully until her health began to decline. She loved the lord, her family, church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband: her son, Willie Swayzer Scott, Jr.: daughter, Glory D Patton: four brothers: one sister: and one grandson, Jerry k. Patton.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Mary E. Proby and Melvin J. Jenkins, both of Dallas, Texas: and one son , Henry W. Scott, (Joanne) of Las Vegas, Nevada. She has three sisters, Ethel Freeman of Inglewood, California, Pinkie l. Foy of Winnsboro, Louisiana, Bessie Watson of Desert Springs, California: and one brother, Reese Wooley of Fontana, California. She has four granddaughters, Renita R. Rollerson  (Richard) of Terrell, Texas Aminika Doughtry (Charles) of McKinney, Texas,  Alisa Kay Patton of Dallas, Texas, Patrina Curry of Phoenix, Arizona: two grandsons, Patrick Scott (Tameka) of Los Angeles, California, Purnell Scott of Fortana, California: 14 great-grandchildren: and four great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends
