Mosie Lee Watson (1930-2022) was born June 17, 1930, in Upshur County, Texas to the parentage of Washington and Maudie Turner. She was the first of six children.
At an early age, she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas, under the leadership of Reverend J. W. Hackett. She later served as a Missionary, Usher, and Secretary/Treasurer at Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Protho Robinson. Most recently, she joined the International House of Refugee Unleased under the leadership of Bishop M. L. Foots, where she is known as the "Mother of the Church".
Mosie attended East Texas Baptist Academy (formerly Butler College) in Tyler, TX, studying Business Administration. She worked 25 years with the Dallas Independent School District until she retired in May 1996.
Mosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tirey Watson, daughter Shannon Dawn, granddaughter Katrina Dawn and three brothers: W. T. "Dubb" Turner, Calvin Turner, and Gene Turner.
She leaves behind her precious memories: her children, Deralyn Manning (Carl); Benotha Dawn (Trunda); Iris Roland; ReShane Dawn-Fowler; Yalesha Dawn. Her sisters, Almeta B. White of Tacoma, WA and brother, Eddie W. Turner (Elberta) of Gilmer, Texas. Grand children: Marcus Tunrer, T'Wana Dawn, Desmon Dawn, LaDarrin Dawn, DeWana Dawn, Akarika Dawn, Isoke Martin, Beneard Dawn, Benjamin Dawn, Michael Stewart. 20 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
