Ola Farris

Ola Rhea Farris went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Ola was born in Hughes Springs, Texas to
the parentage of the late Jerome and Pauline King Royal on March 9,
1921.
She was wedded to James Edward Farris, Jr. for 50 years, who
preceded her in death.
She united with the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
in 1940 under the pastorate of Rev. G. Augustus Burke and later the
Rev. G.T. Thomas. She served faithfully as a member of the Sunday
School, Gospel Chorus, BTU, Drama Club and various ministries
under current Pastor, Rev. Johnny McGee, until her health failed.
Ola is preceded in death by her husband and twelve (12) siblings:
Obie Lee Royal, Mary Chalmers, Belledonia Royal, Rosie Lee Bolton,
Ida Belle Royal, Margie Nell Walton, Ferrie Lene Royal, Alonzo Royal,
Fred Royal, Vernon Royal, Finas Royal, and Joe Earl Royal. To cherish
her sweet memories, she leaves two (2) sister-in-laws: Catherine Miller
and Verlie Cofield, both of Dallas, TX; and one (1) brother-in-law,
Luther Walton, Sr., of Hughes, TX; and a host of very special nieces,
nephews, cousins and loving family friends.
